Getting married in a church is very special. You will be making your vows before God, and seeking his grace and blessing to fulfill them. We will do all that we can to help you plan the service and to ensure that it is a day of great joy and celebration.

Can we get married in your church?

Yes – if you live in this parish, or if you are able to show:

That one of you:

  • has at any time lived in the parish for a period of at least 6 months or
  • was baptised in the parish or
  • was prepared for confirmation in the parish or
  • has at any time regularly gone to normal church services in the parish church for a period of at least 6 months or

That one of your parents, at any time after you were born:

  • has lived in the parish for a period of at least 6 months or
  • has regularly gone to normal church services in the parish church for a period of at least 6 months or

That one of your parents or grandparents:

  • was married in the parish

How much does it cost?
The fees are set centrally by the Church of England (the easiest way to find out what they are is to go to https://www.yourchurchwedding.org scroll down, and click on the button that says 'the cost of church weddings'.

There is also a £50 charge for heating (which isn't required in the summer). If you would like an organist to be present there is a charge which is set by the organist.

How do we book a date?
The best thing is either to come to a service or to ring us on 020 8985 5145.

Is there any preparation?
Yes. The priest who is taking your wedding will arrange to meet up with you for marriage preparation.
