11 September 2026
Please look below to see what's happening at St John of Jerusalem. You would be so welcome to come and join us for any of these services or events.

Every Sunday there are people who would be happy to pray with you immediately after the service, or offer prayers for healing - just make your way to the side chapel (top right, behind where the organ/piano is played).
There is Evening Prayer here this evening at 5pm. For a list of Morning and Evening Prayer times in the week ahead, please see the diary overleaf.
There is choir practice immediately after the service today, and the next two Sundays (13, 20 & 27 September). Tuesday choir practice restarts this Tuesday 15 September, in the Side Chapel, gathering at 7.20pm for a 7.30pm sharp start, finishing at 8.30pm.
Little Tots 0-4 (under 5) Stay and Play continues this Tuesday and runs every Tuesday during term time, 10am – 12 pm. Possible new volunteers for this, please speak Lisa, Andrea or Andrew.
For the Tots group on Tuesdays we need to lay out foam mats and put up plastic fencing to create a huge rectangle in the centre aisle. If anyone has time to help with this TODAY - please stay behind after tea & coffee to help. It's easy to explain what needs doing.
We are joining together with our neighbours at St Mary of Eton/St John of Jerusalem to start a new discipleship programme this Autumn. It is for anyone interested in preparing for Baptism, First Holy Communion or Confirmation—and for anyone simply wanting to explore more about what we believe. Sessions will be fun, interactive and discussion‑based, with children's activities supporting each week's theme. Sessions are on Tuesday evenings, 6:30pm – 7:30pm, alternating between venues:
- 15 Sept – St John of Jerusalem, Lauriston Road, E9 7EY
- 22 Sept – St Mary of Eton, Eastway, Hackney Wick E9 5JA
- 29 Sept – St John of Jerusalem
- 6 Oct – St Mary of Eton
- 13 Oct – St John of Jerusalem
There will be an opportunity - for those who wish to – to be confirmed at St Mary of Eton on Sunday18 October 2026 at 5pm by the Bishop of Stepney.
Continuing this Wednesday, 7pm- 9pm (week 2 of a 6 week course): Who Cares? An introduction to pastoral care.
